Mott the Hoople is one of rock history's most legendary bands. People who were getting something wistfully in his eyes when they talk about the band's gigs and down to earth attitude. Other testify that it was Mott who got them to want to form a band. The least said Mott-inspired Magnus Uggla has even written a tribute to them, "The Ballad of 70th century's greatest rock band."
Guided by the visionary / producer noddy games Guy Stevens was the 1969-1971 a uniquely British hybrid of rock and roll and Dylan. They also had a sense of chaos, rebellion noddy games and authority noddy games notwithstanding noddy games that preceded the British punk with for many years. One of the band's biggest fans was Mick Jones, who would later form The Clash.
But the band ended up in the wrong time. Too late for old-fashioned rock and roll and early punk. When they failed to transfer their live magic to record sales, they decided to put down. David Bowie, then current with Ziggy Stardust, however, was a huge fan and did not want to see them disappear. He offered them a song. Mott The Hooples frontman, Ian Hunter, was cocky enough to Nobba it. Then wrote Bowie All The Young Dudes and the rest is rock history. Mott began even share management with Bowie. noddy games Mott the Hoople continued three years and created albums All the Young Dudes, Mott the Hoople, and before they split.
Hunter has regularly visited Sweden and made a number of magical concerts, with and without the then coupplehorse Mick Ronson (who tragically passed away from cancer in spring 1993). Together they toured in the late 80's all over Sweden with Swedish musicians.
In 2009 it happened that many of us had given up hope: Mott the Hoople noddy games reunited. I was in place at the legendary Hammersmith Apollo (formerly known as Hammersmith Odeon) for the Saturday show. It was magical. The group's original drummer Dale "Buffin" could be due to illness could just play the extra numbers, noddy games which is sad considering that he had been the members of which most missed playing in the Mott the Hoople). Most of drum game was handled instead by Martin noddy games Chambers of The Pretenders, which fitted like a glove and additionally gave Mott more power than they probably had even with a healthy Buffin behind the drums.
Recently, a DVD documentary about Mott the Hoople, noddy games which was made before the reunion. Hunter / Ronson's legendary gig at Rockpalast (in Sweden called Marathon Rock when it was broadcast by SVT) has also been released on DVD recently. To last, we would also recommend noddy games Ian Hunter tour diary from 1972, published under the name of Diary of a Rock'n'Roll Star. Below we list favorite songs and albums with one of rock's most underrated bands. Of course we lift also presented a solo favorites with Ian Hunter, who at 72 (!) Years of age did not show any signs that he is about to step down the tempo. Take the opportunity to see him if you have the chance. Today you will no closer to rock's original core than that.

Ian Hunter belongs to those veterans who did not play much on the radio, but who had a major influence on rock history. The question is, whether Mick Jones of The Clash, Joe Elliott of Def Leppard or our own Magnus Uggla got the inspiration to start with rock music had it not been for Mott the Hoople. Hunter's legendary band is of course most famous for All the Young Dudes, as Bowie specially wrote for them in 1972 when he thought noddy games it would be a shame if they would lay off due to lack hits. (Bowie guitarist Mick Ronson later joined in Mott the Hoople when Bowie abandoned the Spiders From Mars). Hunter is, however, also self-songwriter of rank and wrote the classic noddy games sequel Roll Away The Stone and All The Way From Memphis.
But it is in my opinion as a solo artist Hunter celebrated the greatest triumphs. His no-nonsense rock'n'roll follow the direct descendants of The Rolling Stones and Jerry Lee Lewis with the poetic texts and talk singing has more than a little Dylan himself. But the mix is Hunter's own and it holds an enormous amount of heart - Irene Wilde could in my opinion be the best ballad ever made - although his "non-singing" can sometimes be limited.
- Norway's Universal boss Bjorn Nässjö in Oslo has always liked me. He had made a plate with me back in 1995 called the Artful Dodger. It was my first flat after Mick Ronson (constant sidekick to Hunter) had died of cancer. For a long time I had not had the confidence to continue to run itself. But then I started again. I made an album called Rant 2000 which I am very proud of. And the Norwegians came to the US before the symphony performances. Geir, which is the keyboardist, showed their arrangement ideas and I enjoyed every minute.
I seem to have little fan clubs here and there in the world. In Sweden, it might fr
